What to do...
- Grab your rates information – first, you'll need your agency rate card information at hand, as we will need you to enter each individual rate you charge your clients in the areas of Account Service & Management, Strategic Planning, Creative & Design, Digital, Production and Studio. If your agency doesn't provide all of these services, that's OK - just gather the rate information for the services you do provide and want to find out about.
- Get started – click on the "Start the Free Rates Assessment" link to start the assessment process. If you are a Tick Boxer member you will be prompted to log in, if you are not a Tick Boxer member you will first need to register as a member via our member sign-up page. Then once we have sent you your member details, just return to this page to start the assessment. This ensures we can send your assessment results to you.
- Submit your Assessment – now, enter all the rates you want assessed, then submit your information for assessment. As long as you have all your rate information to hand, the assessment should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.
- Read your results – once you submit your assessment, we'll tell you how you compare to the rest of the industry. For absolutely no charge, we will benchmark your business against similar businesses in the industry, and tell you whether you are above, within or below the market average. How fantastic is that!!
If you'd like a more comprehensive analysis on where your charge rates sit against market average, you can also purchase Tick Boxer's Rate Assessment Report, showing you what the actual industry rates are. This will tell you in exact Australian Dollars what rates you could be charging for your creative services, for each of the categories you completed in the assessment.
This report will also provide detailed analysis of your rates against each individual industry rate and highlight visually (in a comparison chart) whether you are under-charging your services (by how much and in which areas), or whether your belt needs to be tightened in certain areas to be more competitive. Low End of the market refers to a smaller scale operation such as a local graphics business or a sole trader/freelancer business. Tends to have lower overheads and hence low charge rates to supply prescriptive services with straightforward production values, rather than high-end concepts or strategies.
Mid-Range of the market refers to a medium scale operation which may not always cater to the highly strategic needs of a blue chip client but could still undertake a high volume of implementation, execution or rollout work. The solutions delivered here are generally not high level brand concepts or ideas that hold long term strategic value for the client they are more functional pieces of work which often serve short term client objectives.
High End of the market refers to a more complex scale of operations or a business with a high level of creative or strategic competency, providing top quality work at premium rates. These businesses usually service blue chip brands with specialist expertise to provide complex solutions which tie into the client's brand strategy. This category can range from global networks to specialised boutique agencies and smaller creatively dynamic businesses.
